Wow, reading the fight between poetic and 924, the Nissan Silvia was the Japanese S chassis badging. The s13. 14, and 15 are part of the chassis code. The S13 Had the projector style lights as well as the flip up lights. I'm pretty sure I'd know this, considering I have the Chilton's for it and there 180SX style is sitting in front of my house. It was rebadged the 240SX here is the US because of the engine. Also the S13 only had the projector style lights on the coupe after 91.

I could go on for hours about fuel/air optimization, compression ratios, residual horsepower losses, cooling efficiency, variable boost control, and any other car topic you would like to discuss. I can discuss the history of most cars on the road for hours. I am very knowledgeable in this subject because it has been my passion for most of my life. But I don't feel the need to prove my knowledge to someone as ignorant as you, who can't tell the difference between an S13 and S14 Nissan.

It's not that I don't understand what you are saying, I just don't believe you because I have never seen anywhere in all of my research that Silvia is a nickname. You are the first person I have ever heard say that. That argument aside, this car is still an S13. This is obvious from the body shape. If you dispute THAT, then YOU, according to your own logic, are unfit to work on cars, because apparently confusion about the naming of one car makes one completely ignorant about the whole subject.

the silvia badge is aftermarket. theres no disputing that. im done with you. you obviously know nothing about cars. you are and never were fit to become a mechanic.
924Carrera on November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am
Finally, I asked you to explain what exactly the car in the video is according to your peculiar logic, since it is clearly NOT an S14, which is easy to tell from the front and the back. If it's not an S14, and certainly not an S15, then what is it? A one-off concept? No. It's just like the hundreds of other S13 Silvias that you can find plenty of picture of online. With FIXED LIGHTS. I want you to give me a straight answer about this.

And I'm pretty sure that whether I call a car a Silvia or a 240SX, I'm not going to "fuck up" the repairs. And you are obviously an idiot if you think that "automotive engineer" and "mechanic" are the same thing. Because they are not.

Well I won't argue with someone who refuses to look up the pictures on Google Images to see that, indeed, there are Silvia (please stop misspelling because it makes it look that much dumber) logos on the back of the cars. If you opened your mind to what I am saying and actually looked at what I asked you to look at, you would at least see and then maybe you would inform me what the hell those logos mean. And how do you explain those cars that aren't S14's but have fixed lights? Please explain.
poeticromance on November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am
oh and btw. the "sylvias" dont say sylvia on the back. they just carry the nissan logo. if you dispute this, go die because i will no longer argue with a stubborn fool who should ahve no business with cars at all.
poeticromance on November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am
plain and simple. "sylvia" was a nickname given to all imported/japanese s13's,s14's,and s15's. no car that nissan eve made carried the name "sylvia." in japan, they were still called S13 or s14 or S15 or more commonly "esu da" meaning "the S." saying "S13 sylvia" is EXACTALLY the same as saying "imported S13" or "japanese S13" plain and simple. if you cant understand that. please dont be a mechanic. i dont want you fucking up the worlds cars.
